China Everbright Water wins deal to upgrade, expand Beijing waste water project
CHINA Everbright Water - previously HanKore Environment before a reverse takeover by China Everbright International - on Friday announced a deal with the People's Government of Daxing District, Beijing, to upgrade and expand the Beijing Daxing Tiantanghe Waste Water Treatment Project.
The project adopts a semi-underground construction and fully-enclosed model. The total investment for phase one (the upgrading) and phase two (the expansion) is about 228 million yuan (S$50.1 million).
Phase one has a daily waste water treatment capacity of 40,000 cubic metres. Phase two will be designed to add another 40,000 cu m to that.
The entire task is expected to be completed and to start operation in the second half of 2016.
"By then, the water tariff of Tiantanghe WWT Project will increase by approximately 85.7 per cent," the company said.
This project is the company's first that the water discharge will comply with the discharge standard of category IV surface water - which is higher than the National Grade 1A standard.
Leveraging the location of this project in Beijing, the company aims to further develop its business in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic region, it said.
