New Zealand employee confidence falls in third quarter: survey

[WELLINGTON] New Zealand employee confidence fell to its lowest level in three years in the third quarter as people grew increasingly worried about the state of the labour market, a survey showed on Monday.
The Westpac-McDermott Miller employee confidence index fell to 99.3 in the September quarter from 102.8 in the previous quarter.
A reading above 100 indicates more optimists than pessimists.
A softening in economic growth, a falling New Zealand dollar, low wage growth and inflation were all seen weighing on sentiment.
Recent surveys have shown business and consumer confidence waning.
