China Aug services trade deficit US$22.8b: FX regulator
[BEIJING] China's trade deficit in services widened to US$22.8 billion in August from US$17.6 billion in July, the foreign exchange regulator said on Wednesday.
For the January to August period, China had a services trade deficit of US$135.5 billion, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) said in a statement.
August's deficit was led by a US$20.9 billion gap in spending between Chinese and foreign tourists, according to SAFE data.
China had a US$58.6 billion surplus on trade of goods in August, the same statement said.
