Changi Airport's passenger volume up marginally in April

CHANGI Airport handled 4.39 million passengers in April, a slight growth of 0.2 per cent over the same period last year, despite a reduction in the number of operating flights.
Aircraft movements slipped 0.4 per cent to 28,260, said airport operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, airfreight shipments climbed 1.6 per cent to 153,400 tonnes.
"For the month of April, travel demand to North-east Asia and South Asia continued to drive passenger traffic growth, offset by a decline in Europe travel," said CAG in a press statement.
Passenger movements to and from Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Tokyo grew by double digits compared to April last year, CAG added.
