BITCOIN FOUNDATION HOLDS ELECTIONS FOR NEW BOARD MEMBERS

BITCOIN FOUNDATION HOLDS ELECTIONS FOR NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Bitcoin | Ballot Box | The CoinFront Bitcoin News
Despite a rocky year for the Bitcoin Foundation, which faced down potential scandal and hackers and retrenched into “core development”, there’s lots of competition for two vacant seats on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
The Bitcoin Foundation (BF) is holding elections to replace outgoing board members Executive Director Jon Matonis and current Chief Scientist Gavin Andresen as their terms have expired.

BITCOIN FOUNDATION MEMBERS CAN VOTE FROM FEB. 13-19

Final candidates for the two “individual” seats will be confirmed by the Bitcoin Foundation soon and meanwhile candidates can still be nominated by a BF member or they can nominate themselves. Voting is strictly for BF members.
So far, there are 14 candidates running including two Canadians, Michael Perklin and Francis Pouliot:
Theo Chino is the founder of a small Bitcoin provider to Brick and Mortars in the Bronx and Uptown Manhattan.
Bruce Fenton is an investment expert who organizes Bitcoin conferences and is a member of the Global Bitcoin Alliance and the Bitcoin Association.
Colin Gallagher is an Advisory Board Member of the California Lifeboat Foundation and BF member.
Jeremy Gardner manages San Franscico nonprofit organization Blockchain Booster.
Jim Harper is the Bitcoin Foundation’s Global Policy Counsel and senior fellow at the Cato Institute.
Olivier Janssen is a Bitcoin entrepreneur and investor.
Vinny Lingham is CEO and co-founder of San Fransisco First Data company Gyft.
Scott Morgan is co-Founder and CFO of San Diego company Airbitz – financial services for Bitcoin.
Michael Perklin is President and founder of Bitcoinsultants and is on the board of the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada.
Francis Pouliot is CEO of the Bitcoin Foundation Canada and Director of Public Affairs at the Bitcoin Embassy in Montreal.
Dima Starodubcev is a cyber fund architect and cyber shares creator.
Amir Taaki is a software developer and programmer and one of the founders of Dark Wallet.
Bayan Towfiq is a Seattle Bitcoin entrepreneur and CEO of Flowroute.
Cody Wilson is an anarchist activist who has launched his candidacy for the sole purpose of disbanding the Bitcoin Foundation.
